ArtPolonia invites you to a free evening in celebration of the Polish Nobel-prize-winning poetess Wislawa Szymborska, who died on 2nd February this year, with a screening of a documentary and bilingual poetry readings by prominent Irish poetesses. The event is on Friday 9th March at 7pm in the LIR Theatre, Pearse Street, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2 (*NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE & DAY FROM FIRST ADVERTISED). The Nobel award committee's 1996 citation called Szymborska the "Mozart of poetry," a woman who mixed the elegance of language with "the fury of Beethoven" and tackled serious subjects with humor. Don't miss this special chance to become closer acquainted with a giant of Polish culture.
